Who this notice is from
H. T. C. FASTENINGS LIMITED is the controller for personal data it receives through this website or by correspondence. The company's registered details and postal address are set out at the foot of every page.
What this website collects
Nothing is collected automatically. The site is a set of static pages. It carries no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no embedded third-party content and no cookies set by us. The only thing stored in your browser is the preference record described in the cookie notice, and only if you choose to accept it.
The enquiry form
The form on the contact page is not connected to a mail handler. What you type into it is checked by your own browser and is not transmitted anywhere, not stored on a server and not seen by us. If that changes, this notice will be updated before the form is connected.
If you write to us
When you contact the company by email, by telephone or by post we will hold what you send: typically your name, the buying company, your contact details and the content of the enquiry.
We use that information to answer the enquiry, to prepare and follow up any quotation, and to keep an ordinary record of business correspondence. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell it or pass it to anyone for their own marketing.
Why we are allowed to hold it
- Where you are asking us to quote or to supply, because the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform one.
- Otherwise, because we have a legitimate interest in reading and answering correspondence sent to the business and in keeping a record of it.
How long it is kept
Correspondence is kept for as long as it is needed for the enquiry and any business that follows from it, and after that for as long as company and tax record-keeping duties require. Anything of no further use is disposed of.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it or erase it, ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our using it. Where processing rests on a contract, you may ask for a copy in a portable form. Write to us at the postal address on the contact page or email accounts@htcfastenings.co.uk and we will deal with the request.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you may complain to the Information Commissioner, who is the United Kingdom supervisory authority for data protection.
Hosting and logs
These pages are plain files. Whoever hosts them may keep standard server logs for security and diagnostics in the ordinary way; those logs are not created, analysed or used by us.
